DOT, Aberdeen Seek Input on Recreational Trails Plan

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in collaboration with the City of Aberdeen, will hold a public open house as part of the Aberdeen Recreational Trails Plan Update study.

This open house public meeting will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Nov. 8 in the Eagle's Nest at the Aberdeen Recreation & Cultural Center, 225 3rd Ave. SE in Aberdeen.

The Aberdeen Recreational Trails Plan Update study will address a full range of options and issues related to use of the recreational trails system within the City of Aberdeen. The purpose for the open house is to introduce the study to the public, present upcoming events for community involvement and discuss needs and possibilities for expanding bicycle transportation in Aberdeen and the surrounding area.

For those who cannot attend the meeting or would like additional information on the study, information will be made available online after the meeting at www.aberdeentrailplan.com.

The open house will be held from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the location indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 5, 6 and 7 p.m. Open house discussion with SDDOT, city and consultant staff will be available. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until Nov. 26, 2018.

Notice is further given to individuals with disabilities that this open house/public meeting is being held in a physically accessible place.
