S.D. Corn Harvest at 68 Percent Complete

For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.7 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 0 short, 72 adequate, and 28 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 68 adequate, and 31 surplus.

Corn harvested was 68 percent, well behind 89 last year and 96 for the five-year average.

Winter wheat condition rated 2 percent very poor, 2 poor, 18 fair, 66 good, and 12 excellent.

Sorghum harvested was 83 percent, behind 93 last year and 96 average.

Sunflowers harvested was 60 percent, behind 72 last year, and well behind 89 average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 18 fair, 51 good, and 27 excellent.
