SDCGA 33rd Annual Meeting Jan. 19 in Sioux Falls
South Dakota Ag Connection - 01/11/2019

Kick off the New Year by attending the 2019 annual meeting of the South Dakota Corn Growers Association. This year's event includes top-level speakers, educational sessions and, of course, evening entertainment.

South Dakota Corn is hosting its 33rd annual meeting on Jan. 19 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center.

The day kicks off with a resolutions meeting starting at 8:30 a.m., with the morning program beginning at 10:15 a.m. A morning market session will feature Ed Duggan, Senior Risk Management Specialist with Top Third Ag Marketing, and Tommy Grisafi, Commodity Risk Management Advisor with Advance Trading.

Lunch will also include a guest speaker--John Killefer, the new dean of the South Dakota State University (SDSU) College of Agriculture, Food and Environmental Sciences.

A weather marketing session will begin at 1 p.m., featuring Eric Snodgrass, co-founder of Global Weather and Climate Logistics, as a speaker.

The afternoon session concludes with a key issues panel discussion. Farmers can hear the latest updates on where the U.S. agricultural industry stands on trade, policy and transportation issues. The panel will include industry experts from BNSF Railway, Gavilon and the U.S. Grains Council.

After a day full of heavy discussion and thinking, kick back and relax for the evening. A social, silent auction and dinner begins at 5:30 p.m., featuring Howard K. Vincent, CEO of Pheasants Forever, as keynote speaker. Then get your dancing shoes on while The Johnny Holm Band entertains the crowd.

Educational seminars are free, while lunch is $20. Evening banquet and entertainment tickets are $60 each for South Dakota Corn members and $120 each for non-members.
