The South Dakota Department of Transportation will hold public open houses to gather public input for help in developing the S.D. 44/Platte-Winner Bridge Corridor Study. These open house public meetings will be held at 5:30 p.m. on the following dates and locations:

- May 22, Holiday Inn Express, 1360 E. SD44, Winner

- May 23, Platte Area Community Center, 310 S. Main St., Platte

The meetings will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the locations indicated. A brief, summarizing presentation will be made at approximately 5:45 p.m., followed by an open house discussion with SDDOT and consultant staff. The opportunity to present written comments will be provided. Written comments will be accepted until June 6, 2017.

The S.D. 44/Platte-Winner Bridge Corridor Study will investigate and address a full range of transportation options and issues along the Highway 44 corridor between the junctions with Highway 47 east of Winner and Highway 50 west of Platte, including the replacement options for the Platte-Winner Bridge over the Missouri River. In addition to automobile needs, pedestrian, bicycle and freight needs will also be investigated by the study. The purpose of these public open houses is to gather information on community needs and desires to develop a corridor plan that will provide a blueprint to address the future transportation needs in the area. The Environmental Assessment process for the eventual project(s) along the corridor will also be introduced at the public open house meetings.

For those who cannot attend the meeting or would like additional information on the study, presentation documents will be made available online after the meetings at
