First Lady Invites Families to Oahe Days Book Walk
South Dakota Ag Connection - 06/19/2018
First Lady Linda Daugaard is inviting children to participate in a book walk at Steamboat Park on June 23 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CDT. The book walk will be part of the Oahe Days Arts and Music Festival.
"The book walk is an opportunity to encourage children to read and a chance to get outside and exercise," said Mrs. Daugaard.
Children in junior kindergarten through the second grade are invited to attend, but must be accompanied by an adult. The walk will take approximately 20 minutes.
The featured book will be "Hands Can" by Cheryl Willis Hudson. Participants will walk around the park and stop at stations along the way to read portions of the book.
