Extension Forage Field Day in Beresford Aug. 7

Aug. 7 SDSU Extension will host a Forage Field Day for livestock producers, agronomists and industry clientele interested in producing and storing high quality forages.

Forage Field Day will be held at SDSU Southeast Research Farm (29974 University Rd) and begins at 10 a.m. and will run until 4 p.m.

"This event will feature a hands-on case study and hay storage demonstration. Speakers include Dr. Kevin Shinners (University of Wisconsin), who will address 'Conserving Round Bale Value During Storage, and Jared Goplen (UMN) who will speak about Harvest Timing and Management."

-- Sara Bauder, SDSU Extension Agronomy Field Specialist Attendees will also have the opportunity to tour forage plots, partake in case studies, and learn about forage equipment safety.

To help cover costs, the field day is $30 per person if you register by August 4. After Aug. 4 registration is $35. Lunch is included with registration. Register online for the event. Certified Crop Advisor credits are available.
