Fun and Games for the Nordby Exhibit Hall

The South Dakota State Fair Foundation invites fairgoers to take part in multiple opportunities to win prizes and cash during the State Fair in Huron, taking place Sept. 1-5. All proceeds go toward the capital campaign for the construction of the Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth and Community.

A "Pay What You Pull" game will take place during the CBR Bull Bash Wednesday, Aug. 31, and Thursday, Sept. 1. Participants will pull an ear tag out of a bucket and pay the amount shown on the tag, ranging from $1 to $100. During intermission each night, a winner will be drawn. The winners each receive two free tickets to the National Finals Rodeo's Dec. 3 performance in Las Vegas, plus a $1,000 travel voucher.

Pull tab gaming will be available in the Beer Garden each night. Pull tabs will be available from 4 p.m. to midnight.

"These games provide added opportunities for fun for fairgoers and at the same time help reach our fundraising goal for the new exhibit hall. These prizes are unique and have not been offered before by our foundation," said Pam Geppert, State Fair Foundation board member.

The capital campaign is nearing the finish line with $300,000 left to raise of the $4.7 million goal. A donation of $1,000 toward the capital campaign is recognized with an engraved Sioux quartzite brick, however gifts of any size are welcome.

Each donor who provides or has provided a gift of $1,000 or more is entered in a drawing for these prizes:

1. Two VIP tickets to a grandstand concert of choice.

2. Complimentary on-grounds camping space during SD State Fair.

3. VIP parking for SD State Fair.

4. Complimentary carnival pass.

The drawing will take place after the campaign's goal has been reached. The prizes are redeemable for the 2017 State Fair.

The Nordby Exhibit Hall for 4-H, Youth and Community will be dedicated during a ceremony on Sunday at 4 p.m.
