S.D. Corn and Soybeans Well Ahead of 2019

For the week ending Sunday, there were 6.1 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service.
Topsoil moisture supplies rated 3% very short, 25% short, 69% adequate, and 3% surplus.
Subsoil moisture supplies rated 3% very short, 18% short, 76% adequate, and 3% surplus.
Corn condition rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 11% fair, 72% good, and 14% excellent. Corn silking was 89%, well ahead of 53% last year, and ahead of 81% for the five-year average. Dough was 32%, well ahead of 6% last year, and ahead of 23% average.
Soybean condition rated 1% very poor, 3% poor, 11% fair, 72% good, and 13% excellent. Soybeans blooming was 82%, ahead of 69% last year, but near 83% average. Setting pods was 64%, well ahead of 27% last year, and ahead of 52% average.
Winter wheat harvested was 87%, well ahead of 42% last year, and ahead of 76% average.
Spring wheat condition rated 3% very poor, 6% poor, 25% fair, 61% good, and 5% excellent. Spring wheat harvested was 35%, well ahead of 4% last year, but near 37% average.
Oats condition rated 2% very poor, 8% poor, 31% fair, 53% good, and 6% excellent. Oats harvested was 64%, well ahead of 15% last year, and ahead of 56% average.
Sorghum condition rated 0% very poor, 6% poor, 25% fair, 64% good, and 5% excellent. Sorghum headed was 50%, ahead of 33% last year, but near 53% average.
Pasture and range conditions rated 3% very poor, 14% poor, 37% fair, 43% good, and 3% excellent.
