South Dakota Ag Connection - 12/01/2021

Do you miss the old glory days at college? Perhaps you were a very attentive student and paid great attention to your studies. Maybe you were longing for the weekend instead.

This year you have the chance to relive those glory days at the 36th annual conference of South Dakota Corn with a day full of education and fun.

Join in Jan. 22 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center for Corn University.

The conference will kick off with registration beginning at 9 am and the day will get underway starting at 10 am with Mike Pearson, co-host of This Week in Agribusiness and the Farming in the 605 Podcast as the master of ceremonies for the day.

Throughout the daytime program, you will have a chance to further your knowledge with seminars and discussions designed to be engaging and include topics that are important to farmers, ranchers and agribusiness professionals from across the state.

Daytime topics include:

- A weather outlook with insights from Eric Snodgrass of Nutrien Ag Solutions

- Grain market perspectives and roundtable discussion with commentary from Ted Seifried, vice president, Ag Hedge Group, and chief ag market strategist at Zaner Group

- A presentation on ethanol vs. electric by Matt Roberts, Ph.D.

- Lunch is included during the free educational portion of the day thanks to the support of sponsors.

After a day full of learning, be sure to get your dancing shoes ready and party hats on. The celebration will continue with an evening banquet featuring food, drinks and a presentation by Paul Mobley, photographer of The American Farmer.

Following the presentation, the Surf City Allstars will get the party started with a full night of the recognizable music of the Beach Boys and Jan and Dean.

Throughout the whole day you will have a chance to bid on a wide selection of items featured in our silent auction benefitting the South Dakota Corn Growers Association CORNPAC. Details on the silent auction are forthcoming and will be provided on a digital platform, meaning you will not need to be present to bid or win one of the great items, certificates for experiences up for grabs.

After two years away, organizers said they hope to see family and friends at the 36th annual conference. Registration for the daytime portion of the event is free and will include lunch. The evening banquet is $60 for members and $120 for nonmembers.
