Secretary Brooke Rollins Highlights Milk Action Plan Success

By Jamie Martin

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins addressed the National Milk Producers Federation’s (NMPF) annual meeting, promoting the Trump administration’s Milk Action Plan as a key step in supporting American dairy producers.

“I want to be very clear. We will never stop fighting for those of you in the dairy industry and across rural America we have reached that golden age for our producers,” Rollins said. “Dairy farmers have delivered for America for 250 years, and now it’s time for us to deliver for you.”

Speaking before more than 750 attendees, including farmers, cooperative leaders, and dairy industry stakeholders, Rollins highlighted the administration’s dedication to rural America.

The event, jointly hosted by NMPF, the United Dairy Board, and the United Dairy Industry Association, tackled issues such as dairy economics, labor shortages, and federal policy priorities.

Rollins detailed USDA’s four-point dairy agenda focused on driving industry growth. The plan includes encouraging dairy consumption through upcoming revisions to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, lowering production costs, boosting investment in U.S. milk processing, and broadening global and domestic market access.

Labor reform was another key theme in Rollins’s remarks. Rollins emphasized the administration’s efforts to address workforce challenges in collaboration with the Departments of Labor and Homeland Security, while noting that broader reforms depend on Congress. “We are acutely aware of the unique labor needs of the dairy industry,” Rollins said.

Before becoming the 33rd Secretary of Agriculture, Rollins served as Founder, President, and CEO of the America First Policy Institute and held several senior positions in the first administration of White House, including Director of the Domestic Policy Council and Assistant to the President for Strategic Initiatives.
