SOUTH DAKOTA WEATHER

97 Percent of S.D. Wheat Rates Good to Excellent



For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.8 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 48% very short, 40% short, 12% adequate, and 0% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 41% very short, 43% short, 16% adequate, and 0% surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 5% very poor, 24% poor, 44% fair, 25% good, and 2% excellent. Winter wheat emerged was 95%, behind 100% last year and 99% average.
