South Dakota State University Extension will offer Beef Quality Assurance (BQA) training at the Codington County Extension Complex, Classroom A, in Watertown, South Dakota, on January 16, 2025, from 2-4 p.m.
The session will be led by Addie Womack, the SD BQA Coordinator and SDSU Extension Livestock Production and Stewardship Field Specialist. The BQA certification is designed to help producers strengthen consumer trust in beef products, improve herd management, and boost profitability. Additionally, it supports a positive image of the beef industry and contributes to the better marketing of beef.
The training will also provide an opportunity for participants to network and learn best practices for beef production. Attendees will enjoy refreshments and light snacks, sponsored by Agri-Tech. The session is hosted by Madison and Kovarna, SDSU Extension Beef Nutrition Field Specialist.
