SDSU Extension, Audubon Great Plains, and other partners will host the Private Lands Prescribed Fire Forum on December 18, 2024, at Cedar Shore Resort in Oacoma, South Dakota. The event invites landowners, fire professionals, educators, and service providers to explore the practices, challenges, and opportunities related to prescribed fire on private lands.
This forum aims to address essential questions surrounding prescribed fire, including the “who, what, where, and how” of implementation. Attendees will gain valuable insights into resources and collaborative approaches to improve land management practices.
The event is free to attend and includes a complimentary lunch. Vendors and organizations interested in showcasing their services can register for free display tables. Pre-registration is encouraged to ensure accurate meal counts, with registration closing on December 16, 2024.
Prescribed fire is a critical tool for managing landscapes and maintaining ecosystem balance. This forum provides a platform for sharing expertise, fostering collaboration, and equipping participants with knowledge to apply these practices effectively on their lands.
