Launch of new organic chapter in South Dakota

Launch of new organic chapter in South Dakota

By Scout Nelson

The South Dakota Specialty Producers Association is excited to announce the formation of a new Organic Chapter. We are calling on all producers and processors interested in organic methods to attend our kickoff event online.

Scheduled for April 18, 2024, at 4 p.m. Central Time, the meeting will be accessible via Zoom, making it easy for everyone to join from the comfort of their homes or offices.

This new chapter aims to bring together individuals from various backgrounds in agriculture, including both crop and livestock sectors, who are practicing or interested in organic production.

The event serves as a platform for sharing ideas, enhancing brand recognition, and addressing the educational needs of our community. It will also focus on supporting farms transitioning to organic methods and tackling issues like pesticide drift.

The meeting will include the election of chapter officers and a session for participants to propose ideas for future educational workshops, field days, and conferences. We encourage all attendees to come prepared to engage, network, and contribute to shaping the direction of this burgeoning chapter.

Do not miss this opportunity to be part of a growing community dedicated to sustainable and organic agricultural practices in South Dakota.
