South Dakota corn stocks in all positions on March 1, 2022 totaled 381 million bushels, down 9% from 2021, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 215 million bushels are stored on farms, down 12% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 166 million bushels, are down 4% from last year.
Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 77.3 million bushels, down 6% from last year. On-farm stocks of 28.0 million bushels are down 11% from a year ago, and off-farm stocks, at 49.3 million bushels, are down 2% from 2021.
All wheat stored in all positions totaled 32.3 million bushels, down 43% from a year ago. Onfarm stocks of 9.50 million bushels are down 58% from 2021, and off-farm stocks of 22.8 million bushels are down 33% from last year.
Sorghum off-farm stocks totaled 4.76 million bushels, up 41% from March 2021.
Oats stored in all positions totaled 2.07 million bushels, down 56% from last year. On-farm stocks of 1.60 million bushels are down 51% from 2021. Off-farm stocks of 473,000 bushels are down 69% from last year.
Barley on-farm stocks of 130,000 bushels are down 62% from a year ago.
