State 4-h ambassadors set for 2024-2025

By Scout Nelson

South Dakota State University Extension 4-H is proud to introduce its new State 4-H Ambassadors for the 2024-2025 term. This group of dynamic youth will lead various initiatives and represent 4-H as exemplary role models across the state.

The State 4-H Ambassador program is designed to foster leadership and mentoring skills among its participants. Throughout their term, these ambassadors will engage in activities that enhance their abilities in public speaking, event planning, and public relations—skills essential for their future careers.

This year’s ambassadors will be actively involved in leading committees, including those responsible for the inaugural 4-H Gala planned for 2025. This high-profile event aims to celebrate the achievements of 4-H alumni, current members, and sponsors. It provides a unique platform for ambassadors to apply their project management and marketing skills in a real-world setting.

The program not only prepares them for future professional opportunities but also helps them develop personal growth and leadership capabilities. As part of their roles, the ambassadors are tasked with creating and implementing action plans and facilitating educational programs designed to inspire and educate younger members within the community.

The ambassadors for this year have been selected from various counties and bring a wealth of enthusiasm and commitment to their roles. Each one has been chosen for their dedication to the 4-H ideals of head, heart, hands, and health and their proven ability to inspire their peers.

Through their service, the State 4-H Ambassadors play a critical role in shaping the future of 4-H in South Dakota. Their efforts help ensure that 4-H continues to be a guiding force for youth development in agriculture and beyond, preparing a new generation of leaders equipped to meet the challenges of tomorrow.
