2024 online training for commercial pesticide applicators announced

The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources (DANR), in partnership with SDSU Extension, is offering an online training course for commercial pesticide applicators. This program is a part of the pesticide certification process required by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act (FIFRA).

The course is designed for individuals who apply pesticides commercially or as part of their job duties and require a commercial applicator license. It also serves as a recertification opportunity for existing applicators. The online format provides a convenient way to fulfill certification requirements.

Registration for the 2024 online course is available through Traininghouse. The course will be open for registration until February 29, 2024. Participants can select the specific categories relevant to their needs during the registration process. Upon registration, they will receive instructions via email on how to access the course materials.

For further information or assistance, Stephen Robertson, SDSU Extension Pesticide Education Field Specialist, is available for contact.

This online course aims to provide comprehensive training in pesticide application, ensuring that applicators are well-equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to handle pesticides safely and effectively.
