2025 crop hour series focus on Innovation

By Scout Nelson

The SDSU Extension team will kick off its 2025 Crop Hour series with weekly discussions focused on crop management, soil care, and water resource innovation. Starting January 7, 2025, producers can join these sessions every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday until February 27, 2025.

The webinars, beginning at 10:00 a.m. CST (9:00 a.m. MT), aim to provide South Dakota crop producers with practical information to enhance their operations and prepare for the new season.

Each Crop Hour webinar will cover essential topics including soil and water management, integrated pest management for weeds and insects, plant diseases and fungicide use, specialty crops, forage production, climate impacts, business management, and regenerative agriculture. The SDSU Extension agronomy team will lead the sessions, sharing the latest research and best practices.

The webinars are free, but participants must register online to attend. Additionally, Certified Crop Advisers can earn continuing education credits (CEUs) by participating in the sessions, adding value to their professional expertise.

This series is an excellent opportunity for South Dakota producers to gain knowledge that can improve crop productivity and profitability. For more information, participants can reach out to SDSU Extension experts Connie Strunk, Plant Pathology Field Specialist, or Sara Bauder, Forage Field Specialist.
