South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is inviting swine producers and industry professionals to attend SDSU Swine Day on November 4, 2025, in Brookings.
The event will be held at Club 71 inside Dana J. Dykhouse Stadium on the SDSU campus, running from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Attendees can expect a full day of activities, including a student poster competition, expert presentations, panel discussions, and a keynote address by Glenn Muller, Executive Director of the South Dakota Pork Producers Council.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and while attendance is free, registration is requested via the SDSU Extension Events page by searching for “swine.”
Presentations throughout the day will feature John Jaeger, Department Head and Professor of Animal Science, and Matt Erickson of Farm Credit Services, who will provide industry updates.
SDSU faculty Crystal Levesque and Eric Weaver will discuss ongoing swine nutrition and research, followed by Bob Thaler, Distinguished Professor and SDSU Extension Swine Specialist, who will offer additional research insights.
The afternoon will conclude with a speech from David Newman, CEO of the National Pork Board, and an undergraduate panel discussing internships in the swine industry.
