The South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension announced the cancellation of the anticipated Precision Livestock Management Field Day that was to occur on December 8, 2023, in Brookings. This event was set to offer a valuable opportunity for attendees to engage with advanced precision technology systems in the beef cattle industry.
The SDSU Cow-Calf Education and Research Facility was set to host a comprehensive field day from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., featuring presentations, hands-on demonstrations, and facility tours. Participants were to learn about precision feeding and weighing systems, the cattle industry's significance in South Dakota, and ongoing research.
SDSU Extension continues to provide resources on precision agriculture, despite the event's cancellation. Their commitment focuses on helping producers optimize livestock management with innovative technology. Scheduled presenters like Kaylee Wheeler, Madison Kovarna, and Sydney Vanderhoff were set to cover topics crucial for enhancing operations in eastern South Dakota.
While this event will no longer take place.
