SDSU Extension continues its Ag Economic Dialogues this October, a free monthly webinar series designed to help farmers and ranchers make informed, profitable decisions for their operations.
Each session provides practical insights on current agricultural issues and trends affecting producers across the region.
The one-hour webinars begin at 10:00 a.m. CDT and allow participants to join from anywhere — whether at home, in the office, or even from their tractor or combine.
This convenient, accessible format ensures that producers can stay informed without disrupting their daily routines.
Each month’s session features expert-led discussions on pressing agricultural topics. For October, the agenda includes two important presentations:
- PRF Insurance Use and Deadlines – Presented by Whoi Cho, Assistant Professor of Applied Economics, this session will focus on Pasture, Rangeland, and Forage (PRF) insurance options and key filing dates.
- Co-ops in Agriculture – Led by Oscar Sarasty Miranda, Assistant Professor of Agribusiness, this topic explores how agricultural cooperatives operate and benefit producers through shared resources and community-based business models.
Participants must register online to receive the Zoom meeting link. Those who encounter issues with the registration form can also register via Eventbrite or contact Heather Gessner, SDSU Extension Livestock Business Management Field Specialist, for assistance.
Through Ag Economic Dialogues, SDSU Extension continues to support the agricultural community by providing valuable education, expert guidance, and timely information to help producers adapt and thrive in today’s evolving farm economy.
