Stroll Sioux Falls January Recruiting Events

The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) Sioux Falls Job Service will host two “Stroll Sioux Falls” recruiting and hiring events in January. The first is on Jan. 5, and the second is on Jan. 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 811 E. 10th St.

Business partners for the Jan. 5, event include Kids Inc., IBEW, Sioux Falls, School District, School Bus Inc. and SEAM.

Business partners for the Jan. 19, event include Berry Global, JM Caseworks, Bell Inc., Chick-Fil-A and Get-n-Go/Blue Tide Car Wash.

The Stroll Sioux Falls event is designed to allow job seekers the opportunity to visit, apply and possibly receive a confidential interview with one or more businesses in one location. Individuals should bring a resume and be prepared to interview for open positions in which they may be interested.

Participating businesses can build brand awareness, find an untapped pool of qualified candidates, benefit from face-to-face interaction with potential employees, and save time and money finding qualified employees.

After event discussions with employers noted DLR staff were instrumental in providing referrals and information to job seekers about the event. One employer noted there was a consistent amount of potential applicants attending the event and they would be interested in participating again.

Interested individuals needing help with a resume or cover letter before the event can call the Sioux Falls Job Service office at 605-367-5300 to speak with a job advisor. To view open positions before the event, go to southdakotaworks.org.

Businesses interested in participating in future events should contact the Sioux Falls Job Service office and ask for Barb, Ed or Paul.

In 2023, this event will be hosted on the first and third Thursdays of every month and is available at no cost to businesses or job seekers. The next scheduled events will be on Jan. 5, and Jan 19, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Sioux Falls Job Service office.
