Stormwater Community Forum Nov. 14
South Dakota Ag Connection - 11/06/2019
South Dakota State University and SDSU Extension in partnership with the Brookings Sustainability Committee presents a Stormwater Community Forum at 5 p.m. Nov. 14 at the Brookings Activity Center
Four faculty researchers in the School of Design's landscape architecture program are investigating how small rural cities, such as Brookings, can integrate green infrastructure into the existing landscape to reduce stormwater runoff.
South Dakota State University and SDSU Extension in partnership with the Brookings Sustainability Committee invites interested Brookings residents and business owners to attend a Stormwater Community Forum. This forum sponsored by the Landscape
Architecture Program at SDSU will focus on green stormwater infrastructure practices. These landscape-based practices reduce stormwater runoff and improve water quality. The forum will provide opportunities for community members to learn more about
green stormwater infrastructure and provide input on how these practices can be integrated into residential and commercial landscapes.
Feedback from this forum will be used to develop recommendations for future water management strategies in the City of Brookings. An open house discussion will begin at 5 and formal presentations will start at 5:30.
