Community Development Block Grants Awarded

Governor Kristi Noem has awarded over $2.7 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to four projects throughout South Dakota. Dupree, Isabel, Lead, and Timber Lake will use the monies to help fund community projects that total more than $10 million.

"I am proud that we can partner with communities as we work together to improve the overall quality of life. Local leaders who utilize this program help make their hometowns even better and these upgrades will be a benefit to all," said Governor Noem.

CDBG awards include the following:

  • Dupree will use a $770,000 grant to assist with wastewater system improvements
  • Isabel will use a $770,000 grant to assist with wastewater infrastructure improvements
  • Lead will use a $429,937 grant to assist with water, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer improvements
  • Timber Lake will use a $770,000 grant to assist with wastewater infrastructure improvements

The CDBG program provides funding to local governments to complete projects that improve living conditions. The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and administered by the Governor's Office of Economic Development.
