SDSU Garden Hour Returns this Fall

SDSU Garden Hour Returns this Fall

By Scout Nelson

South Dakota State University (SDSU) Extension is bringing back its popular Garden Hour series for the fall and winter months. This limited series, held every other month, is designed to help gardeners continue learning and growing even during the “off-season.”

The next Garden Hour session takes place on October 7 at 7:00 p.m. CDT, featuring SDSU Extension specialists who will share expert advice on various gardening topics.

Participants can look forward to learning about tree care, indoor plant management, insect pest control, and proper storage and preservation of produce.

The goal of the series is to support gardeners in maintaining healthy plants year-round while preparing them for a more successful growing season in 2026.

The sessions will also answer common questions about late-season harvests, plant care, and home gardening challenges faced during colder months.

The Garden Hour is free to attend, making it accessible to gardening enthusiasts of all experience levels.

However, participants are required to register online to receive the Zoom link and email reminders. Once registered, attendees are automatically signed up for all upcoming sessions in the series, ensuring they do not miss any new topics.

Each session is led by SDSU Extension experts who combine science-based insights with practical, easy-to-apply gardening tips.

This initiative continues SDSU’s mission of helping communities expand their knowledge and achieve sustainable results in both indoor and outdoor gardening.

Whether you are an experienced gardener or a beginner, SDSU Extension’s Garden Hour offers valuable guidance to help you grow with confidence through every season.
