South Dakota Cattle Groups Support Negotiations on United States Forest Service Grazing Agreements

The South Dakota Cattlemen’s Association (SDCA) and the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association (SDSGA) represent beef producers and members across the state, including many producers who hold federal grazing permits. Together, the SDCA and SDSGA urge the United States Forest Service to engage in robust and meaningful negotiations for new grazing agreements across the region.

“The stability of the National Grassland permits are important for the permittees and the small communities they support,” said Eric Jennings, SDCA President. “SDCA looks forward to working alongside the Forest Service to develop a more efficient, sustainable and uniform process to administer the permits.”

“The SDSGA is pleased to host initial discussions between the Forest Service and state grazing associations,” said Vaughn Meyer, SDSGA President.
