Spring Wheat Improves; Corn, Soybeans & Sorghum Worsen

Spring wheat quality bounced back this past week while the condition of other spring crops continued to decline.

According to today's Crop Progress Report by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), 66% of the spring wheat crop in six selected states was rated at either good or excellent compared to 59% the previous week.

As for corn and soybeans in 18 selected states, the corn crop was rated at 64% good/excellent and soybeans at 63%.

Corn conditions are now identical to what they were one year ago, while soybean quality continues to be better than it was in 2021, when it was 59% good/excellent.

Sorghum in six selected states, meanwhile, was 42% good/excellent compared to 43% the week before, and 72% the year before.
