Ruveon Created to Lead Bayer Glyphosate Operations

By Jamie Martin

Bayer Group has established Ruveon LLC as the dedicated organization responsible for its U.S. glyphosate business. The new company will oversee key operations including pricing, production, logistics, and go-to-market activities for glyphosate products in the United States.

The decision is part of Bayer's Five-Year Framework, an initiative focused on improving growth, resilience, profitability, and operational performance. By creating a separate business structure, Bayer aims to give the glyphosate segment greater focus within a highly competitive market.

Ruveon will remain part of the Bayer Group while operating with a specialized approach designed for the commodity-based glyphosate industry. Company leaders believe the structure will allow faster decision-making and a stronger response to market changes.

The organization now includes dedicated product, sales, and commercial teams that were previously part of Bayer's Crop Science division. These teams will work to ensure dependable product availability and high-quality customer support for growers and industry stakeholders.

"Today we take an important step within our Five-Year Framework. Ruveon's launch is a sign of our ongoing commitment to excellence in the glyphosate market," said Brian Naber, Head of Crop Science North America & Australia/New Zealand.

He added, “Consolidating U.S. glyphosate resources and operations benefits customers, partners and other stakeholders by enabling the Ruveon and Bayer Group teams to fully dedicate the appropriate focus and resources to best meet and anticipate our respective customers' needs."

Alfonso Alba Ordóñez has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of Ruveon. His extensive agriculture industry experience includes leadership roles across Europe, South America, North America, and China.

Serving alongside him is Steve Knodle, Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Business. He will oversee sales and marketing operations across agricultural and industrial markets, as well as turf and ornamental segments.
