S.D. Sorghum Stocks Up 152 Percent from Last Year



South Dakota corn stocks in all positions on June 1, 2022 totaled 215 million bushels, up 12% from 2021, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Of the total, 130 million bushels are stored on farms, up 18% from a year ago. Off-farm stocks, at 85.4 million bushels, are up 4% from last year.

Soybeans stored in all positions totaled 50.8 million bushels, up 27% from last year. On-farm stocks of 19.5 million bushels are up 77% from a year ago, and off-farm stocks, at 31.3 million bushels, are up 8% from 2021.

All wheat stored in all positions totaled 23.8 million bushels, down 35% from a year ago. Onfarm stocks of 6.80 million bushels are down 48% from 2021, and off-farm stocks of 17.0 million bushels are down 27% from last year.

Sorghum off-farm stocks totaled 1.78 million bushels, up 152% from June 2021.

Oats stored in all positions totaled 1.12 million bushels, down 71% from last year. On-farm stocks of 870,000 bushels are down 69% from 2021. Off-farm stocks of 246,000 bushels are down 77% from last year.

Barley on-farm stocks totaled 90,000 bushels, down 10% from 2021.
