ADM Boosts North America Protein

By Jamie Martin

ADM has expanded its plant protein portfolio in North America with the launch of new soy and pea-based ingredients. This move reflects the company’s focus on meeting the growing need for healthy, flexible, and sustainable protein sources.

Consumer interest in plant-based protein continues to grow as more people aim to improve their diets. Many consumers now prefer protein from multiple sources, with soy and pea leading to the shift. These proteins provide strong nutrition while supporting large-scale food production.

The newly launched products in North America include ProFam 883 and ProFam 894. These soy protein isolates are designed for smooth texture, clean taste, and use in beverages, protein powders, and dairy alternatives such as yogurt.

"Protein is one of the most dynamic areas of nutrition, with consumers now asking for more variety, functionality and choices than ever before," said Greg Dodson, Vice President, Protein, North America, ADM. "With new ingredient introductions and expanding capabilities in facilities across the globe, ADM is uniquely positioned to not only meet that demand at scale, but to also help shape the future of protein innovation."

ADM also introduced Arcon IH, Arcon SB, and Arcon 412. These soy protein concentrates help improve texture, moisture, and cost efficiency in meat applications like sausages, deli meats, and poultry products. They support both conventional and blended meat solutions.

Pea flour is another key addition. It offers a neutral flavor and does not require allergen labeling. It is gluten-free, non-GMO, and includes fiber, making it suitable for bakery products, coatings, cereals, and snacks.

ADM’s innovation efforts aim to improve ingredient performance across many food categories. By enhancing taste, texture, and nutrition, the company supports food producers in developing quality products that meet changing consumer demands.

"By expanding our protein portfolio, we're giving customers more precise, functional solutions that will perform across a wide range of applications," said Tony Payne, Senior Director, Creation, Design, and Development, ADM. "This is about delivering choice and giving consumers access to protein sources that are backed by decades of plant-based expertise and global innovation.

With decades of experience in plant proteins, ADM continues to expand its role in North America by offering reliable ingredient solutions that support both agriculture and food industries.
