Lindberg Confirmed as USDA Trade Leader

Lindberg Confirmed as USDA Trade Leader

By Jamie Martin

Luke Lindberg has officially been confirmed by the U.S. Senate as Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs at the USDA. This leadership role is essential for managing agricultural trade relationships and improving global market access for American farmers.

The American Farm Bureau Federation (AFBF) welcomed the news, with President Zippy Duvall acknowledging the importance of Lindberg’s leadership during a very active period in international trade.

"Farm Bureau welcomes Luke Lindberg to his new role at USDA, guiding decisions that impact agricultural trade. Rarely has there been such an active time when it comes to trade discussions and impacts to American farmers, so Luke certainly has his work cut out for him,” said Duvall.

Lindberg’s background includes significant work in global trade expansion, making him well-equipped to represent U.S. agricultural interests abroad. AFBF believes his approach will help ensure that American farmers receive fair treatment and access to growing markets.

“Luke's experience working to expand international markets and ensure U.S. farmers get a fair shake will serve USDA and our country well. We look forward to working with him in this new capacity," said Duvall.

His confirmation is timely, as trade issues remain a top priority for farmers. Whether it’s reducing trade barriers, securing better terms, or protecting U.S. products, Lindberg’s efforts are expected to drive progress.

The agriculture community is optimistic that Lindberg will strengthen global partnerships and support the economic future of rural America. His work will likely focus on fair trade practices and expanding agricultural exports.
