SDSU Extension is launching its 2024 Crop Hour series, a comprehensive webinar program focusing on corn management strategies in South Dakota. This series is scheduled every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from January 9 to March 7, at 10:00 a.m. CST/9:00 a.m. MT.
It's designed to equip corn producers with the latest insights and techniques for the upcoming planting season.
The series will cover a range of topics essential for corn production, including managing corn insects and diseases, interpreting variety trial results, effective weed control, and optimizing nutrient management. These webinars are tailored to enhance the profitability and preparedness of South Dakota's crop producers.
Key sessions include Adam Varenhorst discussing corn rootworm management, Madalyn Shires and Connie Strunk on corn tar spot and bacterial leaf streak, Eric Jones on weed control, Jonathan Kleinjan with a corn research update, and Jason Clark focusing on nutrient management.
