SDSRPC Board Election for 2025

SDSRPC Board Election for 2025

By Scout Nelson

The South Dakota Soybean Research & Promotion Council (SDSRPC) is calling for applications for three available seats on its board of directors. The SDSRPC is a farmer-led organization that is dedicated to using checkoff dollars to benefit South Dakota soybean farmers.

As a key player in the state's agriculture sector, the SDSRPC helps promote soybean growth and supports initiatives that strengthen the farming community.

The SDSRPC board consists of farmer-leaders from nine districts across the state. The upcoming election will fill three seats from the following districts: District Three, District Four, and District Seven.

  • District Three includes Lincoln, McCook, Minnehaha, and Turner counties.
  • District Four includes Brookings, Lake, Miner, Moody, and Sanborn counties.
  • District Seven includes Brown, Campbell, Corson, Edmunds, Harding, McPherson, and Perkins counties.

To be eligible, candidates must meet a few requirements. You must be a South Dakota resident, a participating grower in the soybean checkoff program, and a resident of the district you wish to represent

If you are interested in serving as a director for the SDSRPC, you can contact Becky Cypher at (605) 330-9942 to request a petition. Completed petitions must be submitted to the SDSRPC office by 4:30 p.m. on April 17, 2025.

Serving on the SDSRPC Board offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of South Dakota's soybean industry. It is an essential role for those who wish to influence decisions that benefit the state's agriculture, enhance research programs, and help soybean farmers thrive.
