South Dakota launches global affairs group

By Scout Nelson

A new coalition focused on global affairs is launching in South Dakota. The South Dakota advisory committee of the U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) will bring together leaders from various sectors like industry, education, and agriculture. The committee aims to educate South Dakotans about global issues and expand opportunities for the state in the international marketplace.

The USGLC is a national bipartisan organization that advocates for a strong American role in global affairs. The South Dakota committee hopes to create new lines of communication with leaders from other states and countries. This will allow South Dakota to share its strengths with the world and learn from others.

The committee's launch comes at a time when international trade plays a significant role in South Dakota's economy. A large portion of jobs in the state are related to trade, and billions of dollars' worth of agricultural products are exported annually. The committee believes that a strong understanding of global issues will benefit South Dakota's businesses and residents.

The bipartisan nature of the USGLC is seen as an important factor in its success.

The South Dakota committee will also focus on maintaining a non-political approach to achieve its goals. This will allow members to concentrate on advocating for American leadership on the global stage and securing a strong budget for international affairs.

The new coalition aims to strengthen South Dakota's connection to the world and ensure the state benefits from and contributes to global developments.
