A new educational webinar focuses on whole farm planning in a regenerative farming setting. The program explains how farmers can create better short-term and long-term plans using holistic management ideas. Whole farm planning helps farmers balance personal goals, financial needs, and ecological care while building stronger and more stable farm systems.
The session is led by Wayne Knight, Executive Director of Holistic Management International. He teaches the basics of whole farm planning and shares tools that help farmers begin building clear farm strategies. The program explains how planning should support the farmer, the land, and the business together instead of focusing only on profit.
Wayne Knight brings more than 27 years of ranching experience to the session. He has worked with holistic management practices for many years and shares how his own thinking changed over time. He once called himself a cattle rancher, then a grass farmer, and later a soil-microbe farmer. Even with these changes, he has always marketed beef while improving soil and land health.
He worked closely with his father, Tom Knight, who was one of the early users of holistic management practices. Wayne became a Certified Educator in 2006 and helped train farmers and ranchers in different regions. He has spoken at conferences, guided producers, and hosted learning days on his ranch. He also served as a board member of Holistic Management International for eight years before joining the staff team.
Wayne has traveled to visit farms in Southern Africa, Australia, and the United States. He has studied and shared high-density grazing and long recovery grazing methods that help improve soil health, plant growth, and animal care. He also holds a Science degree in Agricultural Economics.
The webinar supports farmers who want to understand regenerative methods and apply them in real farm settings. It offers practical knowledge, learning tools, and guidance to help farmers build better farm plans that protect land, support families, and grow farm businesses in a balanced way. Register here.
