The 2023 Range Beef Cow Symposium, co-sponsored by South Dakota State University Extension, is set to take place in Colorado from December 13-14 at The Ranch in Loveland. The event, hosted by Colorado State University's Department of Animal Sciences, will also include additional Beef Quality Assurance training.
This symposium isn't just another industry gathering. It's the region’s go-to event, featuring a specialized program addressing practical production management for cattle producers. The event also sees involvement from the University of Nebraska and the University of Wyoming's Cooperative Extension Service and Animal Science Departments.
Ken Olson, a noted professor and SDSU Extension Beef Specialist, shared the symposium's appeal: a blend of world-class presentations and a dynamic trade show that draws segments from across the industry.
This year's agenda features industry figures discussing beef cattle management themes, including sustainability and marketing. Speakers and producer panels will provide insights, while the "Bull Pen Sessions" offer depth and clarity for participants to interact with speakers.
Julie Walker, another SDSU Extension Beef Specialist, highlights the Bull Pen Sessions as a standout feature, offering attendees a unique chance to delve deeper into the day's discussions.
The symposium will feature a trade show featuring over 50 industry vendors showcasing their products.
Ensure to register by Nov. 25 for early bird rates. Post this, registration fees rise. Details are available on the SDSU Extension Event page or through Ryan D. Rhoades at ryan.rhoades@colostate.edu.
