Secretary Rollins Discusses Avian Flu with Farmers

By Jamie Martin

Secretary Brooke Rollins recently convened a roundtable with farmers from seven states to discuss the pressing issue of avian flu and other significant agricultural challenges.

The meeting underscored the administration's commitment to supporting American farmers and addressing critical issues such as disaster relief, market expansion, input cost reduction, and regulatory decreases.

Addressing Avian Flu and Egg Prices

“President Trump is committed to supporting our great American farmers,” Secretary Rollins stated. She highlighted the impact of prior policies on rural communities and expressed the administration's dedication to reversing these effects and reducing grocery costs, particularly for eggs.

The Secretary outlined a plan to provide poultry farmers with the necessary tools to combat avian flu and restore affordability to egg prices.

Expanding Farmer Support

The discussion also covered topics like increasing access to capital for young farmers, lowering input costs, and enhancing disaster relief measures. Secretary Rollins assured participants of her commitment to meeting financial obligations and working collaboratively to overcome these challenges.

The farmers, representing diverse sectors such as egg layers, dairy, beef, and row crops, shared their perspectives, enriching the dialogue and shaping the path forward for U.S. agriculture.

This engagement highlights the administration’s proactive approach to agricultural policy and its commitment to ensuring the prosperity of farmers and rural communities.
