This initiative aims to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crops in South Dakota by supporting sustainable production, market expansion, and research initiatives.

The application deadline is March 23, 2025. Eligible applicants include government entities, nonprofit organizations, research institutions, universities, for-profit businesses, and individual producers.

Funding Priorities

Grant funds may support projects related to:

Environmental sustainability and pest control

Research and new seed variety development

Increasing consumer awareness and purchasing

“South Dakota specialty crop producers work hard every day to provide high-quality food for our families,” said DANR Secretary Hunter Roberts. “We are pleased to announce this grant opportunity is available to support their efforts and look forward to seeing new projects enhance the sustainable production and safe consumption of our specialty crops.”

Eligibility and Application Process
