The South Dakota Farm Bureau (SDFB) is excited to provide a significant opportunity for its members to engage in farming or ranching. Through its Foundation for Agriculture, which focuses on Leadership Development, SDFB is set to cover the $4,900 tuition for one member to participate in the upcoming South Dakota Ag and Rural Leadership (SDARL) Class, provided they are selected by the program.
Interested individuals are encouraged to apply by completing a brief survey by March 10, available online. The selected applicant will be announced by March 15. However, it is important to note that receiving the tuition does not automatically ensure a spot in the SDARL program. Candidates must still complete the official SDARL program application by April 15.
Krystil Smit, the Executive Director of SDFB, expressed enthusiasm about the initiative. "Farm Bureau is very excited to offer this full tuition opportunity to a member who is interested in developing their leadership skills and learning about ways to support and strengthen South Dakota," Smit said. SDFB’s commitment to nurturing future agricultural leaders is evident through this initiative, aiming to enrich the farming and ranching community.
The SDARL program spans two years and includes educational travel experiences to Washington, DC, and an international location, offering participants exposure to global agricultural practices and policy-making processes. For more details on the program, including application information, time commitments, and schedules, prospective participants can visit the official SDARL website.
This tuition sponsorship by the SDFB is a testament to their dedication to investing in the capabilities and future of their members, fostering a more informed and proactive agricultural leadership in South Dakota.
