80 Percent of South Dakota Corn Harvested

For the week ending Sunday, there were 4.0 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 0 short, 71 adequate, and 29 surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 0 percent very short, 1 short, 67 adequate, and 32 surplus.

Corn harvested was 80 percent, behind 94 last year and 98 for the five-year average.

Winter wheat condition rated 2 percent very poor, 3 poor, 28 fair, 58 good, and 9 excellent.

Sorghum harvested was 90 percent, behind 95 last year and 98 average.

Sunflowers harvested was 71 percent, behind 81 last year, and well behind 94 average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 1 percent very poor, 3 poor, 24 fair, 48 good, and 24 excellent.
