Alt Rockers Support Act for Stone Temple Pilots at State Fair
South Dakota Ag Connection - 05/13/2022

The South Dakota State Fair and C&B Operations welcome Everclear as the support act for Stone Temple Pilots at the Fair Grandstand on Sept. 2.

Formed by Art Alexakis in 1991, Everclear has enjoyed a lengthy career spanning 11 studio releases, numerous videos, thousands of shows, and accolades that include a GRAMMY nomination.

They have written and recorded some truly iconic '90s alt-rock hits, and while no gig is complete without a rendition of "Santa Monica" and "Father of Mine," lately the band has found that exploring the full range of past material - especially the "deep cuts" - not only gives fans a rare treat, but it also injects new life into the band's live dynamic.

"By mixing it up and digging into the catalogue, it still makes it fun and relevant for us, and I think for the fans as well," says Alexakis. "It's still important to play the hits, but by playing those other songs as well, it makes it all seem more vibrant and real.

Everclear continues to tour extensively, and along with Alexakis, their current touring lineup features longtime members Davey French (guitar) and Freddy Herrera (bass), as well as drummer Brian Nolan (also with American Hi-Fi), who has performed with Everclear on multiple past tours.

Hits include: "Santa Monica", "Father of Mine", "Wonderful", "I Will Buy You A New Life", "Everything to Everyone", and "AM Radio".

Everclear and Stone Temple Pilots, welcomed by C&B Operations, join previously announced Lady A with Priscilla Block welcomed by Legend Seeds, Josh Turner & Elle King welcomed by Pioneer, Red Wilk Construction Tuff Hedeman Bull Bash, and the ATV Big Air Tour welcomed by American Bank and Trust at the SD State Fair grandstand.

Presales begin on June 6 for those eligible for the Friends of the Fair VIP table presale, followed by backrest holders and Friends of the Fair ticket presales. General public ticket sales will begin June 21.

Friends of the Fair is a program through the State Fair Foundation offering a variety of benefits including early bird access to State Fair VIP table sales, presale access to grandstand reserved seating and standing room tickets for the State Fair, complimentary daily gate admission passes, and recognition on the fair website. The backrest program is an advertising program allowing businesses or individuals to put signage on a backrest in the grandstand. Backrest signage holders can purchase South Dakota State Fair grandstand tickets for their corresponding signage area prior to general and Friends of the Fair ticket sales. Presale information can be found on www.sdstatefair.com.

The 2022 South Dakota State Fair runs Sept. 1 through 5. Channel Seeds preview night will be Aug. 3
