South Dakota’s agricultural community has a new voice in the state Senate. Governor Larry Rhoden has appointed Brandon Wipf, a fourth-generation farmer, to represent District 22. This district includes areas around Huron and Redfield.
“Brandon Wipf has a keen understanding of our property tax system and reflects South Dakota’s strong values,” said Rhoden. “As a dedicated farmer and ag advocate, he is equipped with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our number one industry. I have no doubt that he will serve our state with excellence.”
Governor Rhoden praised Wipf’s understanding of South Dakota’s tax system and commitment to traditional values. “Brandon Wipf has a keen understanding of our property tax system and reflects South Dakota’s strong values,” Rhoden said. “As a dedicated farmer and ag advocate, he is equipped with an understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing our number one industry.”
The Senate seat became available when former Senator David Wheeler was appointed as a circuit court judge. Wipf’s appointment is effective immediately, and he is expected to begin working with lawmakers and local communities right away.
“I’m incredibly honored and grateful for the trust the governor has placed in me. I will work hard to earn that same trust from the people of District 22,” said Wipf. “I look forward to partnering with Gov. Rhoden, his entire team, and my new colleagues in the Legislature as we continue building a prosperous future for our state.”
He also added that he looks forward to collaborating with Governor Rhoden, the governor’s team, and fellow legislators to help build a strong future for South Dakota.
Wipf’s farming background and dedication to agriculture will be valuable as he works to represent rural communities and address agricultural issues in the state legislature. His leadership aims to support growth, sustainability, and opportunity in South Dakota’s top industry.
