August Tour De Yankton Jobs Event

The Department of Labor and Regulation (DLR) in partnership with Yankton Thrive and Riverfront Broadcasting will host its fifth Tour De Yankton Jobs Hiring Event on Aug. 16 from 3 to 5 p.m.

Since the first event held in April, 91 individuals have applied for employment at 32 participating business partners.

The Tour De Yankton Hiring Event is designed to allow job seekers to explore various career opportunities in Yankton. Individuals are invited to stop by participating businesses to learn about the company, apply for a position, and receive a confidential interview.

South Dakota Human Services Administrator Jeremy Johnson says, "Tour De Yankton effectively serves to share news of employment opportunities. Your planning and attention to detail was greatly appreciated. Your hard work made it so convenient for HSC to be involved in Tour De Yankton."

Participating business partners for August include Applied Engineering, Independent Living Choices, Avera, South Dakota Human Services Center, Shur-co, Cimpl Meats, Slumberland, Larry's Heating & Cooling, Perkins, and Vishay.

Participating businesses can build brand awareness, find an untapped pool of qualified candidates, benefit from face-to-face interaction with potential employees, and save time and money finding qualified employees.

The next event is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2022, from 1 to 3 p.m. Events will be hosted on the third Tuesday of every month at no cost to the business or job seeker. Businesses are invited to sign up for future events by contacting the Yankton Job Service office at 605-668-2900.
