Black Hills State University yielded another record-breaking year in 2022 by securing $19.8 million to surpass the total set in 2021.
The BHSU and Yellow Jacket Foundations and BHSU Alumni Association Foundation topped the previous record of $13.2 million set in 2021. This year garnered $3.7 million in cash, $6.5 million in estate gifts, $600,000 in stocks/in kind, and an additional $9 million in pledges.
“The support our university continues to receive is phenomenal,” said Vice President of University Advancement Steve Meeker. “It really shows the appreciation and love that they have for BHSU. In 2022, we started the quiet phase of a capital campaign that will run through 2027.”
BHSU will be celebrating the 140th anniversary of the university’s founding on Feb. 27 and will host Giving Day. Giving Day 2023 helps support the recruitment and retention scholarship initiative. Join the event page on the BHSU Alumni and Advancement Facebook and use the hashtag #jacketsgiveback throughout the campaign.
