Learn How OFARM Supports Organic Farmers

By Scout Nelson

Organic farmers and agricultural communities continue to explore new ways to improve farm income and build long-term business success. The Organic Farmers Agency for Relationship Marketing (OFARM) plans an educational session focused on cooperative marketing and sustainable farming solutions for organic producers.

The event takes place on June 9, 2026, at 1 p.m. CDT and features Ed Reznicek, a longtime organic farmer and cooperative leader. The session uses a question-and-answer format to help farmers better understand how cooperative marketing works and how it supports fair pricing for organic products.

OFARM works to strengthen organic agriculture by supporting farmer-led market solutions, protecting organic integrity, and encouraging fair and sustainable pricing systems. The organization also helps organic farmers gain a stronger voice during marketplace discussions and negotiations.

During the session, Reznicek shares his experience working in organic farming and cooperative development. He and his family operate a diversified 400-acre beef cattle and certified organic grain farm in Kansas. Their farm produces organic corn, soybeans, cereal grains, alfalfa, and other forage crops.

Reznicek is also connected with Central Plains Organic Farmers, an organic grain marketing cooperative that serves farmers in Kansas and nearby states. Over the last 35 years, he has supported the cooperative in several leadership roles, including General Secretary, Marketer, and General Manager. Although he recently retired from the position of General Manager, he continues educational work related to organic production systems and cooperative development.

The event gives organic producers an opportunity to learn how cooperative marketing may improve market access, pricing stability, and long-term sustainability. It also highlights the importance of farmer cooperation in supporting stronger rural economies and maintaining growth in organic agriculture.

The educational program encourages producers to explore practical business strategies while connecting with other farmers interested in sustainable agricultural success. For registration, click here.
