Tyson Foods Seeks Field Swine Veterinarian

Tyson Foods is seeking a dedicated Field Swine Veterinarian to lead health management initiatives in their wean-to-market operations located in the Midwest. This position is integral in ensuring the health and well-being of swine on farms by implementing and overseeing health-related protocols. The veterinarian will collaborate with farm teams and the Technical Services department to address health issues and optimize farm operations.

Main responsibilities for this role include:

  • Directly interacting with farm personnel to identify and resolve health issues.
  • Developing strategies to enhance production management, health protocols, and biosecurity.
  • Conducting farm assessments and helping train farm staff on standard health procedures.
  • Regular travel to farms in Indiana and Ohio.

The candidate must hold a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and have at least three years of relevant experience. Effective communication and standard computer skills are essential. The candidate must also be willing to obtain licensure in Indiana and Ohio.

Candidates should have:

  • Strong knowledge of swine diseases and health management practices.
  • The ability to follow strict biosecurity and safety guidelines when visiting farms.
  • A willingness to travel frequently and lift up to 25 pounds.
