Wilbur-Ellis Pledges $100,000 to 'Raise The SHED' Campaign

The South Dakota State Fair Foundation has exciting news as Wilbur-Ellis pledges $100,000 to the 'Raise The SHED' Fundraising Campaign. This contribution will go towards the development of a state-of-the-art facility at the South Dakota State Fairgrounds, known as The SHED.

The new facility will serve as the home for Open Class Sheep and will also function as a versatile multi-purpose space, featuring a show arena and an indoor educational center. This center will play a crucial role in fostering interactive learning about the sheep industry, agricultural opportunities, and the state's rich farming heritage.

Matt Richmond, Wilbur-Ellis District Sales Manager, expressed enthusiasm for the project, emphasizing the importance of providing young people with opportunities to learn valuable skills and values that will benefit them throughout their lives. The investment in The SHED aligns with Wilbur-Ellis's commitment to supporting South Dakota farmers and benefiting individuals from all walks of life in the state.

The 'Raise The SHED' campaign aims to raise $3 million for the total project cost of approximately $8 million. Donors have various opportunities to contribute at different levels, including the chance to have their names on the show arena or donor wall.

The former Open Class Sheep Barn has already been demolished, and the planning and design phase for The SHED is underway. The groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled to take place during the 2024 State Fair.
