For the week ending Sunday, there were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Topsoil moisture supplies rated 4% very short, 19% short, 69% adequate, and 8% surplus. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 2% very short, 12% short, 73% adequate, and 13% surplus.

Corn condition rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 15% fair, 60% good, and 22% excellent. Corn silking was 16%, near 13% for the five-year average.

Soybean condition rated 1% very poor, 2% poor, 20% fair, 60% good, and 17% excellent. Soybeans blooming was 49%, well ahead of 24% last year, and ahead of 39% average. Setting pods was 14%, ahead of 4% average.

Winter wheat condition rated 1% very poor, 4% poor, 21% fair, 64% good, and 10% excellent. Winter wheat harvested was 5%, behind 16% average.

Spring wheat condition rated 3% very poor, 10% poor, 28% fair, 51% good, and 8% excellent. Spring wheat headed was 95%, well ahead of 71% last year, and near 91% average.

Oats condition rated 1% very poor, 6% poor, 34% fair, 48% good, and 11% excellent. Oats headed was 93%, ahead of 74% last year, and equal to average. Harvested was 4%, near 8% average.

Sorghum condition rated 0% very poor, 2% poor, 25% fair, 68% good, and 5% excellent. Sorghum headed was 20%, ahead of 10% average.

Pasture and range conditions rated 2% very poor, 15% poor, 37% fair, 36% good, and 10% excellent.
