South Dakota State University's Dakota Lakes Research Farm (DLRF) is thrilled to announce its annual field day, taking place on June 29, 2023. Join us from 3:00 PM (CST) until dusk for an enlightening experience.

Immerse yourself in two field tours, each lasting approximately 1.5 hours and offered twice, allowing you to attend both. Delve into a range of topics presented by esteemed experts from SDSU and the DLRF.

Tour 1:

1.Gain insights into the Cropping Year and Ongoing Research from Sam Ireland, DLRF Manager.

2.Explore Winter Wheat and Crop Variety Testing with Sunish Sehgal, SDSU Winter Wheat Breeder, and Jon Kleinjan, SDSU Extension Agronomist.

3.Discover the latest advancements in Pea Variety Testing with Christopher Graham, SDSU Extension Agronomist.

Tour 2:

1.Understand the Importance of Crop Rotation and Soil Carbon Dynamics with Dwayne Beck, DLRF Manager Emeritus.

2.Learn about Livestock Integration at Dakota Lakes Research Farm from Cody Zilverberg, DLRF Consulting Scientist.

3.Uncover insights into Oats and Forage Oats from Melanie Caffe, SDSU Oat Breeder.

4.Delve into the Nutrient Research and Education Council (NREC) Phosphorus Study, focusing on the Role of Soil Biology, with Clarence Winter, SDSU Graduate Student.

Sponsored by South Dakota State University and the Dakota Lakes Research Farm Corporation, this event provides a complimentary meal for all attendees. No registration or fees are required.
