Free Ag Economic Dialogues Help Farmers Boost Profits

Free Ag Economic Dialogues Help Farmers Boost Profits

By Scout Nelson

Farmers and ranchers can gain valuable business insights during the September session of Ag Economic Dialogues, a free one-hour webinar designed to support profitable decision making. The live event begins at 10:00 a.m. CDT and allows producers to learn from experts without leaving the farm, whether they join from a chair, tractor, or combine.

This month’s discussion highlights two key topics affecting agricultural operations. Hoahn Le, Assistant Professor and SDSU Extension Economics Research Specialist, will examine Crop Farm Financial Performance, offering tips to track and improve farm finances.

Heather Gessner, SDSU Extension Livestock Business Management Field Specialist, will present on Farm Planning—Estate, Transition, and Retirement, guiding families through the steps needed to protect assets and create smooth ownership changes.

Ag Economic Dialogues is a monthly educational series created to help agricultural producers stay informed about changing production issues. Each webinar focuses on current challenges and practical strategies for better management and long-term success.

Registration is required to receive the Zoom link. Participants can sign up online using the provided form, through Eventbrite, or by contacting Heather Gessner directly for assistance.

By attending, producers will gain timely economic updates and actionable planning advice. This convenient, no-cost program offers farmers and ranchers the opportunity to strengthen their business skills and plan ahead, all from the comfort of their own operation.
